π Doubleheader, Game II | Clayton Clovers @ Reidsville Luckies π
Cole Price walks it off to complete five-run comeback in final inning of play
REIDSVILLE, NC β Historically, the Luckies had struggled against the Clovers, with their all-time series record being 1-4 following a loss right before this game.
But Cole Price and his bat didnβt care about what the first-half Central Division Champions had done in the past.
Entering the bottom-half of the seventh in the seven-inning game, the four-leafs had the Luckies in a 7-3 chokehold, and were just three outs away from another win.
But Lucky City refused to go away quietly. They put up three runs to narrow the deficit to one.
Cole Price then came up to the plate with two runners in scoring position. Price, the Northwest Guilford graduate who will be heading to Guilford College in 2024, had a full count, two outs, and the pressure of the game on his shoulders.
Price then hit a 2-RBI double to win the game, 8-7, giving the crown of the luckiest team in the ONSL back to its rightful owner!

On-Deck
The Luckies need to treat the rest of the season, every single game, as must-win.
Tomorrow, they play the Oak City Gliders. They have beaten the Raleigh-based team four out of four times this year, so this is a gimme that they have to get to bolster that divisional record.
Thursday, our Luckies will travel to High Point. The High Point Hushpuppies quickly became the new arch-rivals of the Luckies in 2024, and now the season series is tied. You may remember the game when the Hushpuppies played in Reidsville and had to stop with a tie game after nine innings due to lighting issues. That game will be played out on Thursday at Ed Price Field, and immediately following will be the final game of the season series.
Friday, they will play against the Wake Forest Fungo. The Fungo tied with the Luckies in the first-half, and havenβt had the strongest start to the second-half of the season. Reidsville needs to capitalize and get a big win in Wake County on Friday night.
Six games remain. All six are divisional. All six are important. The Luckies must finish strong.
