Luckies and Fungo agree to play best of three series in Wake Forest tomorrow to determine the final playoff spot
Elimination Series determines second place in the Central Division
Today’s tripleheader with huge implications was postponed due to rain. With the Luckies and the Fungo both keeping an open mind about who they would play on Tuesday, there was an opening for Tuesday games.
And now, the schedule has been made official: the Luckies, with a 10-9 record, will take on the Fungo, who hold an 11-9 record, in a best two-out-of-three game series.
What’s on the line? The winners move on to the playoffs, and the losers go home.
The doubleheader will take place first, each of which consist of seven innings. If the two rivals split the series, 1-1, the final game will be a three-inning finish to Friday’s game that was rained out.
The winner of the series will hold the second-best record in the Central Division and move on to the Old North State League “You Can Go Home Now” Cup Tournament.
UPDATE, 9:36 PM — The games will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM tomorrow at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary.
