At North White Street in Wake Forest, the Fungo once again shutout the Luckies, this time taking down Reidsville 7-0.
Brennan Fleming took the loss on the mound tonight. It was a slow burn, with the Fungo stretching those seven runs across five innings. The offensive side of things was especially tough for Reidsville, as they only recorded four hits overall, coming from Sam Melton, Myles Odom, Calvin Keesler, and Cal Nielsen.
This Luckies loss was very unfortunate, as they drop their second divisional game in a row after starting the extended Fatherβs Day weekend stretch 2-0. Now, their divisional record sits at 5-3.
Extra Bases
I interviewed Malik Frails, who has had a very storied career and life at such a young age. Listen to the interview below for more.
On-Deck
The four game stretch is over, and the Luckies split both of their series. They beat the Fungo one out of two times, and beat the Clovers one out of two times, which is solid.
But, after a one day break, there will be games on each of the next six days, three of which will be at home. Tuesday is against the NANT in a non-league match at 6:00 under the Jaycee Park lights, before the Luckies head out to Raleigh for a divisional game with the Oak City Gliders on Wednesday. Thursday, they play in Danville against the Dairy Daddies, and Friday is another divisional bout at home with the High Point Hushpuppies. Saturday, they head back to East Clayton Community Park to break the series tie with the Clovers, and Sunday, they wrap up the stretch with a home game against the Gliders.
After this, the Luckies get a breather, as they will get a weeklong break before putting on the batting gloves again.
Nice interviewβ¦Mr Frails is going places in life.
