The Luckies fall short, 9-6, to Lexington in the first game of the season

Reidsville’s first game of the year ended in defeat to the Lexington Flying Pigs in a high-scoring affair.

Josh Little of the Flying Pigs pitched 5 innings, while Owen Crevelt hit a three-run homer, got to home plate twice, and stole a base to propel the team to a win. Little earned Planet Fitness Pitcher of the Week honors, while Crevelt was named the Planet Fitness Player of the Week.

The Luckies have an opportunity to avenge this loss in the Barbecue Capital of the World on July 7th, but for now, they must focus on their upcoming matchup with the Sandhills Bogeys. The Bogeys will be a tough task, as they are the reigning champions in the Old North State League. This will be Reidsville’s first divisional game of the season.
