ONSL Semifinals finish, Championship Series is set | Luckies Ledger Bracket Battle wraps up
David Woods wins the second Luckies Ledger Bracket Battle
After six series have wrapped up in the Old North State League Playoffs, two teams remain, and no series has gone to a do-or-die game three.
The Clayton Clovers swept the Lexington Flying Pigs, and the Sandhills Bogeys took care of the Tarboro River Bandits in a pair of games. Now, the Clovers and Bogeys will face off, with Clayton looking to avenge their 2023 runner-up finish, and Sandhills looking to lift their second-ever Old North State League trophy.
The series begins tonight in Sandhills, game two will take place in Clayton on Friday night, and a potential game three would be at East Clayton Community Park on Saturday.
Luckies Ledger Bracket Battle standings are set in place
David Woods will be the second-ever Luckies Ledger Bracket Battle Champion!
Woods correctly predicted both the Clovers and Bogeys making the championship, and no one else’s title pick remains in it. Therefore, Woods has locked up the tournament and the imaginary Luckies Ledger title belt.
Joe Dexter gets second place, Justin Dill receives third, Steve Shropshire is in fourth, Eric Smith is in fifth, and Jay Ramey (who is that guy?) didn’t even get a point.
Extra Bases
Two of my least favorite Old North State League teams are competing for a title, and I missed on every one of my bracket predictions. This hurts.
