🍀 Doubleheader, Game I -- Reidsville Luckies @ Sanford Spinners 🍀
Luckies down Spinners, 4-1, in game one of two
The Reidsville Luckies took down the Sanford Spinners, who are deep in the playoff race, 4-1, on the first game of a seven-inning Thursday doubleheader at Tramway Park.
Connor Hartigan pitched the full seven, and blanked the Spinners with 0 earned runs allowed. Reidsville failed to capitalize for a long time, with zero runs through six innings. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Jacob Trivette led the Luckies to a four-run inning that would put Lucky City on top. They would go on to defeat Sanford, 4-1.
Extra Bases: The Luckies have had players and pitchers of the week before. And now, Reidsville has had both in the same week! Sam Melton beat out the Old North State League at the plate, while Jonathan Sendziak dominated on the mound to become the Pitcher of the Week. Both are receiving their first league awards.
They even used different logos on the images to stop people from thinking that the Luckies have all of the best players in the league, which they do.
Notes: I’ll wait until the second half of the doubleheader to talk about the standings.
Upcoming: Another seven-inning doubleheader, right now.
