🎉 COUP DE GRÂCE IN CARY! LUCKIES KNOCK OUT WAKE FOREST TO CLINCH A PLAYOFF SPOT! 🎉
Cancún on three, Wake Forest!
THE REIDSVILLE LUCKIES ARE HEADING TO THE 2024 OLD NORTH STATE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS!
Below are some immediate reactions from members of the organization.
Joe Dexter, PA Announcer and Play-by-Play Commentator: I am ecstatic that the Luckies, with their backs against the wall, played their best baseball this season to head to the playoffs. They left it all out on the field, and the effort from Malik Frails and Cole McLain in game two was spectacular.
Eric Smith, Statistician and Longest-Tenured Lucky Fan: I have been here since day one, the first pitch of the first game. So that’s how the long I have been with the Luckies. To finally see playoff baseball is the highlight of my fandom.
Steve Shropshire, Co-Owner: I’m proud of the guys, they stuck with it. They got knocked down a lot of times, and just kept getting back up. There is a lot of fight in this team, and just like how we were down 7-0 and came back against Clayton, they kept getting back up. That kind of game shows the resilience the Luckies have, and that’s how the Luckies won back-to-back elimination games today.
Justin Dill, General Manager: Super exciting, first time the Luckies have made the playoffs since our inception, and to do it in my second year and Chenzo’s second year, hats off to not only the guys but to Chenzo as well, managing this group of guys to this point, and also becoming victorious in seventeen innings of baseball in one day.
On-Deck
The postseason at Jaycee Park on Thursday evening. Meet us there at 5 PM.
I will be publishing a special playoff edition of the Luckies Ledger before the postseason gets underway on Thursday.
