The Reidsville Luckies didn’t score for the first time this season in their game against the division leaders, the Sanford Spinners, 8-0.
The Luckies just couldn’t get anything going up against the Spinners, and it may have been due to their new mascot, Webster the Spinner, giving Sanford a competitive edge. I’d include an image but he kind of scares me.
Extra Bases: For tonight’s edition of Extra Bases, you can listen to the exit interviews for Edwin Bowman IV and Andrews Opata, two of the team’s best players who, sadly, will be returning to Georgia for the remainder of the summer.
Andrews Opata’s interview is above. Edwin Bowman IV’s interview is below.
Notes: Unfortunately, Reidsville has lost their grip on the Central Division third place, and the High Point Hushpuppies have taken over that spot. The Luckies are two games out, but, thankfully, they have a pair of games against High Point this weekend, and can reclaim their position.
Upcoming: Tomorrow, the Luckies look to close the third place gap and begin their climb back up the Central Division ladder in High Point at Ed Price Field. This weekend, the Luckies face the Hushpuppies at home, before taking on the reigning champions, the Sandhills Bogeys, on Sunday in Lucky City.
