🍀 Away Game -- Reidsville Luckies @ Sandhills Bogeys 🍀
Luckies shut out their rivals in Bogey Ballpark
The Reidsville Luckies put on one of their best showings of the year against the reigning champions, the Sandhills Bogeys, shutting them out, 4-0.
Colin Eaton pitched eight innings, only gave up five hits, and struck out nine Bogeys.
Ryne Rodrigues sent a home run far over the wall, his second of the year.
Andrews Opata clearly wants to repeat as ONSL Player of the Week, as he went 3-4, with a home run, a double, and a single.
Extra Bases: Head to the Sandhills Bogeys Twitter page. They are extremely upset about Andrews Opata seizing the ONSL Player of the Week honor, as they pretend that Colby Thorndyke deserves it.
But, thankfully, OPATA WENT TO BOGEY BALLPARK IN PINEHURST, NORTH CAROLINA, AND SHOWED THEM WHY HE IS THE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AND IS ABOUT TO BE THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
Sorry, guys. That was a little much. I’m worked up a bit.
Notes: This cuts their playoff deficit from three-and-a-half games to two-and-a-half games. If the Luckies defeat the Oak City Gliders on Sunday, and the Bogeys lose to both the Gliders and Sanford Spinners this weekend, the Luckies would be just a single game away from a spot in the postseason.
Upcoming: The Luckies have two home games this weekend. They face the Carolina Yankees in non-league action this Saturday, and, on Sunday, they’ll battle the Oak City Gliders.
