2024 Old North State League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby
Eastern All-Star Team defeats our guys on the West, 8-1
At East Clayton Community Park, the Northeastern and Southeastern divisions pummeled the best players from the Western and Central Division.
Ryne Rodrigues and Landon Parker represented the Luckies as starters on the team. Rodrigues was at his usual spot, first base, and Parker was behind the plate, where he excels. Rodrigues batted third in the order, and Parker was the second leadoff hitter in the six-hole.
The Ryne-O grounded into a double play in his first at-bat. Then, in at-bat number two, the former Lucky of the Game and two-time Moment of the Game winner got on base via a hit by pitch. Caleb Hammond of the loathed High Point Hushpuppies then powered out an RBI double to bring in Rodrigues, scoring the only run of the game.
Landon Parker had a fly out to first, and also pounded it out to right field so the runner could advance to third base.
After the starters got two at-bats, the reserves came in. The Eastern team won the game, 8-1.
In the first round of the home run derby that featured twenty competitors, Ryne Rodrigues made it to two tiebreaker rounds but was not able to make it into round two.
